Reservation and payment

The terms and conditions listed here concern Lomamokkila’s and B&B Taipaleenniemi’s direct reservations. Lomamokkila and B&B Taipaleenniemi are referred as “hotel” later in the text.

The reservation can be made by letter, e-mail, telephone or electronic booking system.

If the reservation is made through an electronic booking system, the reservation and cancellation policy is determined by the particular system.

The reservation can be confirmed by email or telephone and is a binding agreement for both the hotel and guest.

The reservation can be confirmed by paying the deposit or by giving the credit card information (Visa or Mastercard, not Visa Electron).

Any complaints concerning the invoice must be made within 10 days of the invoice date. If the deposit is not made by due date, the hotel is entitled to cancel the reservation.

In case the customer does not arrive by an appointed time or cancel the reservation in time, the sum will be charged in total.

The credit card details can be used in case of damages caused by clients or unpaid services or goods.

Information required for credit card guarantee

We accept Visa (not Visa Electron) and Mastercard.

The client should inform about the credit card name, name of the credit card holder, credit card number and expiration date as well as verification code (the last three digits printed in the signature area on the back of the card).

The information can be sent by e-mail or fax.

 

Cancellation or change of reservations

All cancellations must be made to the hotel in writing (by electronic reservation system, letter or e-mail). A cancellation shall be considered as being made when the hotel has received the information concerning the cancellation.

If the customer can prove that the cancellation has been made and sent to the right address in time, the cancellation will be accepted even if it arrives late or does not arrive at all.

In the case of cancellation, the customer will forfeit at least the deposit.

If the cancellation is made at least 30 days before the expected arrival, the customer will be required to pay only the deposit.

If the cancellation is made later than 30 days before the expected arrival or the reservation will not be cancelled at all, the customer will be required to pay the entire sum.

The customer is entitled to a refund, excluding the deposit, in case the customer or a person from the same household falls ill, has an accident, or dies. In this case, cancellation must be notified to the hotel without delay and properly verified, e.g. by a doctor's certificate.

If the cancellation is made during the holiday, payments already made by the customer will not be refunded.

In case the customer changes the reservation (e.g. the number of people, the date, the location), a separate fee will be charged.

A change in the location or in the date must be made at least six (6) weeks before the beginning of the stay. Changes made after this date will be treated as a cancellation of the previous booking and a new booking.

 

The rights of the hotel to cancel the reservation

In case of force majeure, the hotel is entitled to cancel the reservation.

In this case the customer is entitled to a full refund of the sum paid to the hotel.

 

Staying in room or cottage accommodation

In B&B Taipaleenniemi, the customers should be at least 18 years old. The maximum occupancy of each room is 2 persons.

In Lomamokkila, the maximum occupancy is normally 2 persons in each room, but in some rooms, one or two extra beds can be added. Extra beds need to be ordered in advance.

The customers staying in the main building should be at least 18 years old. The rooms and cottages are only for the hotel’s customers and the hotel should be informed about visitors in advance.

The rent in the rooms includes breakfast, linen and cleaning at the end of the stay (unless otherwise agreed).

The customer is responsible for cleaning the room during the stay. The hotel will, however, clean the room and change the linen every other day during the stay if the customer stays longer than 4 days.

The bringing of pets should be separately agreed on with the hotel. Pets are not allowed in the rooms and in some cottages in Lomamokkila and in the rooms B&B Taipaleenniemi.

Smoking is not allowed indoors.

The time of arrival in room accommodation is between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. In case the customer wishes to arrive later, the hotel should be informed in advance. The reception is closed in B&B Taipaleenniemi at 6 p.m. and the customer is charged with 30 € for late check-in after that.

The reception is closed in Lomamokkila at 10 p.m. and the customer is charged with 30 € for late check-in after that.

The check-out is by 11 a.m.

The rent in cottage accommodation includes furniture, kitchen utensils, and well as fuel for heating, cooking and lighting.

Mattresses, blankets and pillows are included in the price. Customers bring their own linen and towels (linen and towel can also be rented at Lomamokkila).

The customer is responsible for cleaning the cottage during and at the end of the stay. In case the cottage is not properly cleaned at the end of the stay and the owner has to clean it before the next customer arrives, Lomamokkila is entitled to charge a sum of 100 euros for the cleaning.

The bringing of pets should be separately agreed on with Lomamokkila. Most of the cottages are allergy-free, meaning pets are not allowed in them.

Smoking is not allowed indoors.

The number of persons staying in a cottage must not exceed the number of people earlier agreed on (the maximum number of people in a cottage must not exceed the number of beds in a cottage). The use of tents and caravans on the holiday spot is not allowed without the owner’s permission.

The time of arrival in cottage accommodation is between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. In case the customer wishes to arrive later, Lomamokkila should be informed of this in advance. The reception is closed in Lomamokkila at 10 p.m. and the customer is charged with 30 € for late check-in after that.

The keys to the cottage must be handed in at 11 a.m. on the day of the departure.

 

Pets

Pets are not allowed in the rooms. In some of the cottages (cottages #1, #2, #3 and #6) the pets are allowed but this should be informed in advance.

 

Damage compensation

The customer is responsible to compensate for any damages to the holiday spot or its furnishing.

 

Complaints

All complaints and remarks concerning the holiday spot must be made immediately as they appear. In case the matter won’t be satisfactorily attended to, the customer may make a written complaint to the hotel. Normally, this should be done within one month after the end of the reservation.

In case the customer and the hotel cannot reach an understanding, the customer may take the matter to the Consumer Complaint Board of Finland.

 

The governing law and the place of disputes

The contracting parties attempt to resolve the disputes by negotiating. If no understanding is reached in the negotiations, disputes will be settled in the district court of Savonlinna.

The contract shall be governed by Finnish law.

 

Right to alter prices

The hotel reserves the right to correct the prices if the taxes or public charges affecting the holiday service change.
